Sony has acknowledged that certain games are facing issues with the name change feature, some of which appear to be severe. In the most extreme cases, players may lose access to in-game premium currency, lose progress, or experience additional bugs within the game. Sony also mentioned that users may experience issues with trophies in the critically affected games, and warned against using the name change feature for players that intended to keep playing the affected games. Also, the list likely isn't entirely complete, and there's a good chance other games may be affected as well.

In addition to the list of critically affected games, Sony put out a list of titles that have been experiencing less severe issues. The issues are pretty inconsequential compared to the other games, including problems such as settings returning to defaults, old PSN names displaying rather than the new one, and linked accounts becoming unlinked.

It's also worth noting that while Sony's original name change announcement stated that all games published after April 1st, 2022. would be developed with name changes in mind, at least one game published after that date has encountered issues and it's possible that more will surface in the future.
