If you're working through the Festival Playlist in Forza Horizon 6, there's a good chance you've bumped into a rivals ghost event at some point, and that can be annoying when you just want the reward and move on. It sounds simple on paper: load in, beat a ghost, collect your points, maybe grab a few FH6 Credits along the way. In practice, though, the setup can feel a bit fiddly, and the game does not always explain what it wants from you.

Getting Into a Rivals Run

To start, head into the Online menu and look for Rivals, then Horizon Rivals. From there, pick the event type, the actual track, and the class of car you want to use. The game should then match you with a rival time. Once you confirm it, choose your car, and you'll be dropped into the run. That part is usually easy enough. The tricky bit is making sure you're in the right event for the challenge. A lot of players miss that and then wonder why nothing pops.

What You Need To Beat

When the race starts, you only need to finish with a faster time than the rival ghost. Sometimes the target is laughably slow, and sometimes it is not. I've seen runs where the rival is so far off the pace that you can relax a little. Other times, you're pushing hard all the way to the line. If the challenge asks for a specific car type or era, make sure your setup fits before you launch. It sounds obvious, but it's easy to overlook when you're rushing through the Playlist.

Why It Might Not Count

If you've beaten the ghost and the challenge still hasn't moved, check the wording carefully. Some daily tasks want you to beat a rival ghost, while others want your own best lap. Also make sure rival ghosts are enabled in your online settings, because that can trip people up. The clean lap part matters too. If you smash barriers or run wide, the game may not treat it the way you expect. A clean, valid run is usually what unlocks the reward properly.

When the Game Still Refuses

There are times when none of that helps. The daily can just be bugged, plain and simple. That happens more than it should, and players have been running into it with Playlist objectives for a while now. If everything looks right and it still won't complete, you may need to leave it for a bit and try again later. When it does work, the reward is usually worth the effort, especially if you're chasing seasonal points and trying to keep your credits moving in the right direction with cheap buy FH6 Credits.
